Mahan Tantric Yogi Bhajan

White Tantra Yoga

Sat Nam. Envision energy in the universe as parallel and perpendicular in nature, like a cloth woven together. As a cloth becomes stronger when it is stretched on the diagonal, so this White Tantra Yoga energy is diagonal or “Z” energy. This energy, when directed by the Mahan Tantric, cuts through the blocks that are stuck in the subconscious mind. See The Mahan Tantric.

White Tantra Yoga should not be confused with Black Tantra Yoga or Red Tantra Yoga. These forms of yoga also transform energy, but in a different way and for a different purpose. White Tantra Yoga directs the energy to self-mastery. Black Tantra Yoga directs the energy to manipulate other human beings, and Red Tantra Yoga directs the energy solely for sexual purposes.

There are three types of Tantra Yoga. One is White Tantra Yoga that can
remove the garbage from your subconscious mind, which blocks you from
seeing your real self. It does involve the male and female energy, but does not
involve sexual intercourse, nor do you take off your clothes. The second is Red
Tantra and directs the energy for sensual purposes. And the third is Black
Tantra that directs the energy to manipulate another human being.

"Since ancient times humans have found that they have zillions of thoughts,
billions of feelings, millions of emotions, thousands of desires, hundreds of
fantasies, and multi-realties, and personalities. Ultimately, our mind and thoughts
rule and bog us down. We try every method available to get rid of this pressure
because it is eating us up inside. White Tantric Yoga® (White Tantra Yoga) enables you to
break through those subconscious blocks, so you can enjoy life... This is the path to personal freedom and awareness, and will bring more success to every area of your life." Yogi Bhajan

White Tantra Yoga is practiced in pairs as a group meditation, and gives one a connection to their spiritual self. Participants sit facing each other. Each course consists of between six and eight kriyas, i.e., meditations incorporating breath, a yoga posture or hand position, mental focus and sometimes a mantra – sound current, accompanied by music. These can vary in length from eleven to sixty-two minutes. There are breaks between each kriya and a lunch break during the day. The atmosphere is friendly, relaxed and very uplifting.

COMMENTARY

Satpal Singh Khalsa

Sat Nam. When I was in high school and college in India, I understood Tantra as a form of education related to Yoga practice involving mantras, meditation, rituals and ancient Indian beliefs and practices. I had studied Sanskrit in school and I recall my Sanskrit teacher explained to us that "Tantra" is a divinely knowledge to worship God and also told us that Tantra practice requires prerequisites of initiation and sanctification of body, mind and soul. "Tantric", I was told means one who has the knowledge of Tantra. I agree with the definition as herein described.

On the question of "Mahan", it is widely used in Indian languages and referrs to Great One, Master, Grand, Saint, Mighty, Heavenly and someone with psychic powers. This is also a Sanskrit word. In Persian, it means beautiful, glowing, radiant, etc. "Maha" is another word used to denote the same meaning as "Mahan".

Regarding Tantra Yoga practice; again when I was in India; I heard about three different kinds of Tantra Yogas -- namely White Tantra, Red Tantra and Black Tantra. White Tantra Yoga involves purifying the mind and body and was the most pious yoga to practice. Red Tantra Yoga is associated with sensuality and sexual energy while Black Tantra Yoga is associated with "Ridhis and Sidhis" (use of psychic powers) and manipulation and control. Black Tantra is the most difficult form of Tantra Yoga to master as it involves controlling the minds and circumstances of people. Black Tantra is used in India to cast a spell or misfortune on people. After I came to USA and met Siri Singh Sahib Ji and practiced White Tantra Yoga, I truly understand its power and discipline. Today, there are complex and myriad forms of Tantra Yoga practices and new ones are being introduced constantly. --

One Skin Different Perspectives

White Eyes                              Colored Eyes

"3HO needs to reach out to people of color,
not expect people of color to find 3HO."

"There are many culturally illiterate Americans
who think racism no longer exists in America."

"It remains true today, in the ancient tradition of ignorance
that people of faith and otherwise good sense hasten to
ostracize and demonize any person or group whose
beliefs, lifestyle, and customs are unlike their own."

"Looking at the only all Black family in 3HO/Sikh Dharma
after 47 years
from my perspective as a person of color I have
to ask, why are there so few Blacks? Oh sure, there are African
Americans
represented, but they are disproportionate in number.
Do people of color see this disparity as a positive or as a negative?
Think about the optics from the perspective of most people of color.
BTW: How many Black Kundalini Yoga teachers/trainers are there?"

"Any organization that fails to maintain open communication and dialogue with
its constituency is at risk of dysfunction, loss of credibility, and irrelevancy."

"Since the election of President Obama many claim to be weary
of the ongoing conversation about racism. Think about the weariness of
people of color who have waited for centuries for substantive discourse
to occur. That conversation has only just begun." -- Hari Singh Bird Khalsa
