"What is Maya? Temporary things you think are permanent,
Prior to each conception, on a timeline moving from left to right, we exist to the Left of Maya. Lust, anger, greed, pride and attachment are unknown. We are born with no conscious recollection or sense of discrimination, prejudice, caste or color, race or racism, tribalism or exclusion, or sense of separation.
We are blissfully ignorant of the power and attraction of Maya, the illusory distractions of money, passion, sex, jealousy, attachment and loathing until we begin to fall under the influences of and interact with parents, siblings, relatives, caregivers and teachers; until we experience the conditions and environments dictated by our destiny whereby we develop our version of egotism and the subsequent spiritual affliction of pride.
We grow a body. We grow a brain, perhaps the most complicated thing in the world. (And we grow it without even thinking about it.) Fact is a supremely intelligent Life Force of unknown origin created and sustains this wondrous miracle of life. IT is what many refer to as God.
We enter the physical world as spiritual beings in order to learn at the hands of teachers and/or the hands of time in the midst of Maya. As we proceed on the Maya timeline our consciousness evolves on a uniquely personal path back to the Left of Maya where our evolution continues in another incarnation, a different body, seeking more and different experiences, but with little or no conscious memory of previous experiences.
Our purpose is to experience virtue; to develop character; to experience a life of diversity, a life of inclusion; to experience forgiveness; to experience compassion (not to know compassion is not to know love); to ultimately experience Ek Ong Kar, the one Unified Field of Consciousness, our Essence, all in the midst of and in spite of Maya.
