                     Sat Nam, Everybody!
Welcome to Hari Singh Khalsa.com

I am Mukhia Singh Sahib
Hari Singh Bird Khalsa.

POINTS TO PONDER

"The mere act of teaching implies that one
wishes the world well."
-- Roger Roseblatt

“It is the job of a spiritual teacher to poke,
provoke, confront and elevate." --
Yogi Bhajan

"Life is the only gift of God within you ... be grateful." -- Yogi Bhajan

"Think about it. You grew your magnificent brain, perhaps the most
complicated thing in the world. And you grew it without even thinking
about it. A supremely intelligent Life Force of unknown origin created
and sustains this miracle of life. It's what we refer to as God." --
Hari Singh

"Underneath the superficial self, which pays attention to this and that, there
is another self more really us than I. And the more you become aware of
the Unknown Self -- if you become aware of it -- the more you realize that it is
inseparably connected with everything else that is. You are a function of this total
galaxy, bounded by the Milky Way, and this galaxy is a function of all other galaxies.
You are that vast thing that you see far, far off with great telescopes. You look and
look, and one day you are going to wake up and say, "Why, that's me!" And in
knowing that, you know that you never die. You are the eternal thing that comes
and goes, that appears -- now as John Jones, now as Mary Smith, now as
Betty Brown -- and so it goes, forever and ever and ever." --
Alan Watts

A Brief Personal History

I am a native of the Midwest. My Native American heritage is by way of my father and the Cherokee and Modoc tribes. I am also a yoga teacher and a Sikh minister, and since 1969 I've been a student of Yogi Bhajan, who is the founder of the 3HO Foundation and the master of Kundalini Yoga. My career as an Optician began following active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps in 1958. My Optician licenses in Florida and Arizona are current. I have been certified by the American Board of Opticianry, and National Contact Lens Examiners. I am currently an Ophthalmic Dispenser Training Consultant. And I am a passionate advocate of a) the resurgence of the Optician as a genuinely skilled Health Care Provider as opposed to today's Dispensers who are trained mostly as eyeglass merchants, b) resurgence of the Full Discovery and Disclosure Life-style Interview and Design of prescription eyewear, c) the conscientious Hands-on-the-Patient delivery of prescription eyewear, and d) more effective hands-on training for aspiring Opticians in the art of custom designed lenses and the custom fitting of eyeglass frames. See Acknowledgements.

A Special Note

As a senior Ophthalmic Health Care Provider and founder of OpticalCourse.com, I am interested in sharing my experience in the dispensing of prescription eyewear. If you are a practitioner who recognizes the decades-old decline in dispensing skills and wish to incorporate hands-on-the-patient dispensing into your practice, or you need guidance in order to improve your skills and profitability, please visit these sites, OpticianryToday.com and OpticalWorkshops.com for more details, then contact me here.

My wife and partner since 1964.

"From a woman all men are born. How then can
any man degrade any woman?" --
