3HO Winter Solstice Sadhana TESTIMONIAL Sat Nam. Here's a testimonial from Vince (Henry) Melito, a former '70s resident of the 3HO Denver ashram, which was discovered online by Hari Kaur Bird. Sat Nam. Early in the 90's I had two myocardial infarctions (heart attacks) a year apart. After my second attack they did am angioplasty. Upon finishing, the doctors sent me to the ICU for recovery. I was given the last Sacraments. I was ready to leave the Planet with resignation and much sorrow. A nurse came to me in ICU. She asked me if I would like to hear some relaxing and uplifting music. I told her yes, so she put a Singh Kaur CD on to play. I was floored. I immediately released tears and enough pain to fill an ocean. None of this narrative will make any sense unless I share more of my history, so bear with me. I moved into the 3HO Denver, Colorado ashram back in the early '70s a few months before Summer Solstice Sadhana. It was an amazing experience. We did Sadhana everyday. A lady by the name of Singh Kaur would sing for our morning Kirtan. She also played our wake up call at 3:30 AM...She was an angel in my eyes and heart. My name is Vince (Henry) Melito. I changed my name then to Darshan Singh Khalsa. I found the family I was always longing for in Denver. I was blessed with a direct connection to spiritual discipline in the company of folks of higher consciousness. I practiced Sikhism. I did Sadhana everyday for 10 or 12 years and got kicked by the most intense shakti pad upon my father's death. I cut my hair and left the dharma. I had never spoken to the nurse in the ICU about my Sikh background. You can imagine how her putting Singh Kaur's celestial voice with that Guru Ram Das chant back into my life was just what the doctor ordered (pun) was not just a coincidence. I am certain that I would have passed on that day in the ICU, but Guru Ram Das found my number and called me with Singh Kaur's beautiful voice. Vince Melito See More Vince Melito Commentary.
